Just a brief message from Graeme & Adele who would like to thank Gary for his hospitality at Hotel Jarvis, Bahrain.
The accommodation and facilities on offer were ***** star and we look forward to returning very soon!
For those of you who have not yet experienced this trip of a lifetime we have compiled a short visitors guide to entice the unsure to book that flight.
Hotel Jarvis Visitors Guide
Hotel Jarvis is a small family run establishment which welcomes international visitors (Please note: All Welsh visitors must come with subtitles).
The Hotel is suitable for the old, the young, singles, couples and families with young children. The Hotel Manager speaks excellent English (pre-cocktails) and provides free airport transfers in a spacious air-conditioned Toyota Land Cruiser (7-seater).
Accommodation consists of 4 spacious bedrooms with en suite option. Air conditioned throughout with cooking facilities including gas-fired BBQ with complimentary chef.
Board basis All-inclusive offering a wide range of beers, wines, local and international spirits together with an extensive cocktail menu. The Hotel recommends all visitors sample the house special, a Cheeky Vimto.
Facilities include a large outdoor pool which can accommodate skinny dipping after the hour of Midnight until early morning prayers at the nearby Mosque. A Lilo is available upon request.
Fitness fanatics can burn off those excess calories by taking advantage of the indoor gym and dog walking (dog included).
Entertainment on offer includes a full-size drum kit (lessons are payable locally), 42" rear-projection TV with extensive DVD library, assorted board games and the resident DJ suits all musical tastes (requests taken).
Day Excursions (subject to availability) typically include a half day visit to see the Tree of Life (off the road rough terrain so car sickness tablets advised), the King's Camels, Seef Mall Shopping Centre and the Souk (market).
Night Excursions (subject to availability) typically include a visit to the nearby Ritz Hotel for dinner and cocktails (please beware of the Long Island Iced Teas), Senor Pacos Mexican Margerita Night (dancing compulsory), Crowne Plaza Hotel "all you can eat and drink" Buffet (Friday's only), Irish Bar Guiness & Pool Tournament with Live Music.
Optional Extras Taxi and Car Hire available at very reasonable local rates, complimentary maps at airport (worthless).
Local Tips as Bahrain is a Muslim country please do not ask where the wine aisle and the ham is in the local Al Jafizi supermarket. Dress code is conservative when in company, e.g. do not sunbathe topless in a thong when the pool boy, house boy, roof cleaner boy, maintenance boy or any other visiting males may be present (or suddenly just appear).
PS - Unless the Hotel Manager has specifically requested a state of emergency undress in order to secure a speedy response from the aforementioned household maintenance team.
